KEN KILBANE NAMED PRESIDENT OF TRANSAMERICA INSURANCE & INVESTMENT GROUP

LOS ANGELES (Jan. 6, 2006) – Ken Kilbane has been named President of Transamerica Insurance & Investment Group (TIIG), a marketing unit of Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company (TOLIC) and its affiliates, announced Ron Wagley, Chief Executive Officer of TIIG and President and Chairman of TOLIC.

"Ken has a wealth of experience in the management of various aspects of our organization, and he has forged strong relationships with our distributors," says Wagley. "I am confident he will lead TIIG to successfully meet the challenges of the marketplace with innovative and sound financial solutions for consumers."

Kilbane joined Transamerica as Vice President, Technology, in 1996. He was promoted to Executive Vice President, Market Development, in January 2004 to oversee Marketing, Pacific Rim Sales, Specialty Marketing and Transamerica's affiliated broker/dealer, Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc.

Prior to joining Transamerica, Kilbane worked for ITT Residential Capital Corp., Countrywide Financial Corp., and Weyerhaeuser Mortgage Co.

Kilbane received his undergraduate degree in Finance from California State University, Northridge, in 1986. He holds Series 7 and 24 brokerage licenses from the National Association of Securities Dealers.
