AEGON TRANSAMERICA FOUNDATION
"Be Well" Applies to Our Communities, Too
We're committed to helping improve the wellness of our communities.
Transamerica believes our responsibilities extend beyond our corporate walls. That's why we created the Aegon Transamerica Foundation in 1994. Through a combination of financial grants and the volunteer commitment of our employees, this foundation supports nonprofit organizations focused on the education, health, and well-being of the communities where we live and work.
Categories of Support
Our foundation grant dollars support nonprofit organizations in the following categories.
Arts & Culture
Programs that foster creativity in the visual and performing arts; support for venues that promote artistic expression, advancement, and education; and greater accessibility to these areas for youth and the underserved.
Civic & Community
Programs that encourage community development and support civic engagement and leadership; initiatives that promote greater quality of life within the communities in which Transamerica employees live and work.
Education & Financial Literacy
Programs and venues that provide and promote education, personal development opportunities, and access with respect to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and other subjects, especially financial literacy.
Health & Human Services
Programs committed to improving the overall wellbeing of individuals and families by promoting health awareness and education, nutrition, medical services, and disease prevention, and by providing access to essential human services such as food, housing, clothing, and job skills training.
Inclusion & Diversity
Programs that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in our communities, with well-defined goals and measurable outcomes. Examples of diversity include people who are differently abled, belong to communities of color, identify as LGBT+, have served our country in the military, are 60 years or older, or are female.
United Way
Along with leading an annual campaign, employees' contributions are matched by at least 50%.
In addition to the areas above, a special fund may be established for employee donations, often matched dollar-for-dollar, and provided to an organization assisting in disaster relief efforts.
In 2021, the Aegon Transamerica Foundation donated $8,454,995.

Habitat for Humanity
We're building more than just healthy habits.
Over the years, Transamerica employees nationwide have volunteered their time, energy, and spirit to help families build houses with Habitat for Humanity. In 2016-2017, Transamerica sponsored the first ever full house build in Denver from start to finish, making the home a little more affordable for the family of Francis and Schola.

Junior Achievement
We make learning about good spending and saving habits fun.
Transamerica is proud to be the title sponsor of Junior Achivement's JA Finance Park to promote financial literacy. Students become an adult for a day and immerse themselves in a reality-based decision-making process that involves budgeting, investments, philanthropy, banking, and more. Transamerica employee and JA board member Brian Florey says, “My experience with Junior Achievement has given me a genuine sense of optimism with regard to the next generation’s ability to grow and expand our economy, as well as enrich our workforce.”

United Way
Giving until it helps:
Transamerica has an annual campaign where employees’ total contributions are matched at least 50% by the company. In 2017, we also partnered with the United Way for our disaster relief initiatives in Houston, St. Petersburg, and Puerto Rico. Many of our advisory committees also support various UW programs and services. Total giving to this organization last year was approximately $429,560.
