IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1 If the rider is structured as joint life, the withdrawal percentages are based on the younger of the annuitant or the annuitant's spouse when withdrawals begin.
2 For the joint life option, the withdrawal percentage will be reduced by 0.50%.
3 The initial rider fee is deducted on each rider quarter in arrears, and is an annual percentage of the Withdrawal Base. Income Enhancement and Rider Death Benefit are available for an additional fee on Retirement Income Choice 1.7.
4 Joint life option fee is 1.60%.
5 The living benefit fee is deducted each benefit quarter in arrears as a percentage of the greater of the Withdrawal Base or the Guaranteed Future Value.
6 If no withdrawals are taken during the first five years, or an automatic Step-Up occurs.
7 Every living benefit anniversary, the withdrawal base is set to equal the greatest of the growth component and Step-Up component. A Step-Up is not applied in living benefit years when an excess withdrawal has been taken. On each rider anniversary, the Step Up Component will equal the greatest of current Step-Up Component, policy value and the highest policy value in the previous rider year based on the valuation frequency.
8 On each rider anniversary, an automatic step-up will occur if the policy value or the highest policy value in the previous rider year based on the valuation frequency is greater than the current withdrawal base as long as no excess withdrawals have been taken.
9 For the joint life option, the annual rider fee is 1.60%.
12 Growth feature is only applicable during first ten rider years and is not applicable in years when a withdrawal is taken.
13 Income Enhancement is not available in New York or California.
14 For the joint life option, the withdrawal percentage will vary based on attained age. For the joint life option in New York, the withdrawal percentage will be reduced by 0.50%.
15 If no withdrawals are taken during the first ten complete living benefit years or an automatic Step-Up occurs.
Withdrawals of taxable amounts are subject to ordinary income taxes and, if taken prior to age 59½, a 10% federal tax penalty may apply.
The Withdrawal Base is equal to the policy value when the rider is added (less any premium enhancements if the rider is added during the 1st policy year), plus any additional premium payments you make, less any adjustments for excess withdrawals.
Same sex couples have the right to marry in all states. The parties to each marriage that is valid under the law of any state will each be treated as a spouse as defined in this policy. Individuals in other arrangements, such as civil unions, registered domestic partnerships, or other similar arrangements, that are treated as spouses under the applicable state law, will each be treated as a spouse as defined in this policy for state law purposes. However, individuals in other arrangements, such as civil unions, registered domestic partnerships, or other similar arrangements, that are not recognized as marriage under the relevant state law, will not be treated as married or as spouses as defined in this policy for federal tax purposes. Therefore, exercise of the spousal continuation provisions of this policy or any riders by individuals who do not meet the definition of “spouse” may have adverse tax consequences and/or may not be permissible. Please consult a tax professional for more information on this subject.
