Here to build a better world
We’re more than a business — we’re neighbors and community members, too. That’s why we step up however we can to support the issues that matter to us. It’s also why we founded the Aegon Transamerica Foundation, a nonprofit that focuses our corporate philanthropy on the areas most important to our employees.

Employees helping their communities
Living your best life isn’t just about the money you’re able to save or invest. It’s also about being part of something larger and helping those who need it. We encourage all our employees to be a force for good, and we give eligible employees 12 paid hours a year to spend volunteering.
Bringing our values home with Habitat for Humanity
Our employees volunteer their time and energy frequently to help families build houses with Habitat for Humanity in communities across the country.
Pedaling hard for life-saving research
We team up to support the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. At CycleNation events around the country, our employees support life-saving heart disease and stroke research.
Teeing off for Kids on Course
Many of our employees in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, volunteer at the Zach Johnson Foundation Classic, which benefits Kids on Course. The program provides mentoring, tutoring, summer learning, and more for local kids in need.
Sparking financial literacy with Junior Achievement
The sooner people can develop financial literacy, the better. That’s why we’re proud to be the title sponsor of Junior Achievement’s JA Finance Park. During this program, students immerse themselves in a real-world process involving budgeting, investments, philanthropy, banking, and more.
Coming together for United Way
In 2022, we gave more than $1 million to the United Way through payroll contributions, proceeds from a silent auction, and a 50% match from the Aegon Transamerica Foundation.
Gearing up for better futures
Our employees donated items and stuffed backpacks in support of two good causes in 2022. Bags of Fun delivers toy-filled backpacks to kids fighting long-term or life-threatening conditions. A Precious Child’s “Fill a Backpack” event collects backpacks and school supplies for kids who need them.
Hitting the streets for longer, healthier lives
To show our commitment to living long and living well, our employees came out for the 5th Annual Purple Pumpkin 5K for the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s®.
Aegon Transamerica Foundation
We want to make the communities where our employees live and work better. To help do that, we established the Aegon Transamerica Foundation with our parent company, Aegon. Through a mix of financial grants and our employees’ volunteer work, we help nonprofits focused on the areas that matter most to our people.

Aegon Transamerica Foundation donated $8.1M+ in 2022 to nonprofits stepping up to be a force for good.
Apply for a grant from Aegon Transamerica Foundation
We evaluate grant requests based on two factors: how the organization aligns with our purpose and community investment priorities; and whether the organization is linked geographically to one of our key locations shown below.
Applications are accepted throughout the calendar year, and the year-end deadline is November 1. We’ll consider any applications received after November 1 in the next calendar year.
If your organization fits our criteria, and you’d like it to be considered for a grant, email your completed application to shaegontransfound@aegonusa.com.
